Ac Recharge
It's best to take it to a quality AC shop. Not only can they verify the system is still in good shape and just the usualy slow 7-10 slow seepage requiring a vacuum and recharge only, but they can possibly upgrade you to more higher efficiency and eco friendly R12a refrigerant instead of the old, ozone killing R134 refrigerant.
I really am not sure what is fully entailed in changing over to the more eco friendly and better working refrigerant. I suspect the compressor oil will need to be drained and flushed to one compatible with the new refrigerant.
At the bare minimum, even if just recharging the R134 with more R134, I believe the oil is also done at the same time and it's a specific oil for the refrigerant.
It's one of the few things best left to the pro's with the proper equipment to do it right.
