Default Civic 98 DX Car Stops after a few minutes. Dizzy iss

I want to preface this with the fact that this is my first time posting on the forum. The car will start and then a few miles into the drive it will shut off. The fuel pump will prime from a cold start but after the vehicle shuts off you have to wait a few minutes for the fuel pump to prime to get it to start again. One time I was on the side of the road a mechanic happened to be there and told me it was the distributor that was causing this problem. Bought a distributor from Amazon to install and when I pulled it off and took the cap and rotor off I noticed it had a hitachi ignition control module. When I verified online what kind of distributor my vehicle used itiss TEC. The amazon distributor said it was not compatible with hitachi. So I am not sure if the wrong distributor was put in from the owner before me or if this is the wrong distributor for this engine. Also did not mark the distributor when I took it out. So I am not sure how to put it back in. Also noticed an oil leak on the engine coming from the distributor when I took the old dizzy out. What can I clean all those connectors out that have the oil on them. Do i need a new oring? The distributor attached to the engine in the pictures is the new distributor. The second distributor with the rotor off is the old distributor with the hitachi icm. The third one is a picture of the oil leak.

Fuel pump priming has no connection to the distributor, so just put your old one back on as it is almost certainly OK.

Check the ground wires on the thermostat. Check that the oil and battery lights come on when you turn the key on and it doesn't prime. Also what does the check engine light do during that time? It is likely you have a bad ECU.

The check engine has always been on since I got the vehicle it produced codes for the speed sensor and iac valve and cat converter replaced iac valve and need to swap out the speed sensor. the fuel pump always primes from a cold start though. when i tested the ignition coil before i swapped out the distributor i was only getting a 0.04 reading between terminal a+b maybe i did something incorrectly . How do I check the thermostat ground wire ?

There are 4 small black wires that ground to the engine at the thermostat. These ground the whole ECU system, so a solid connection is essential for it to work.

Turn the key on but don't start. Wait (with the key on) for 10 minutes. Turn the key off and back on. Does the relay click and fuel pump prime?

So after not being able to work on my car throughout the week I decided to work on it yesterday. I put back the old distributor and changed the spark plugs wires because I had damaged one of them pulling it out. Now the car won't even turn over I hear the relay click. The oil and the battery and the CEL light comes on when I put it on ON II and the CEL goes away and we are left with the other two lights. I noticed upon inspection that the sensor that goes on the air intake that runs to the throttle body was disconnected I stripped the insulation and reconnected it and still the car will not turn over. It cranks but it just seems as though there is not enough combustion to get it to turn over

I made a YouTube video of what the car does.
