Benifits of Drag coilovers vs cheap coilovers
Well, just thought i would see how benificial it would be for me to get rid of my no-name brand coilovers that are 2 years old and replace them with a set of ground control coilovers that have pretty stiff spring rates. Will this help me with traction? Help my consistancy in launching? Drop my 1/4mile times? Any comments, opinions or experience would be great. Thanks

Oh yeah, ive got a 92 dx hatch that is daily driven with a high compression b20vtec.

it should help with all of them above. I have a set of ground controls with 400 up front and 750 in the rear. Traction should be imporved, since you have better traction, your time should improve, consistancy as in better 60' should improve. Just be careful on the street, if you get something to stiff in the rear, you don't want to take turns at to high of a speed and watch out for dips in the road. It could get pretty nasty.
great, thanks for the reply. Do you use your 400f and 750r springs on the street? Is it easy to lose control with those spring rates on the street? thanks again

anything can be ridden on the street, its just a question of how well. I imagine that those springs rates are ok unless you hit a bump taking a turn in above average speeds.
I was gonna go big in the rears, but it'll be pretty bumpy, etc...without a set of very expensive suspension.
I'm doing 400front\500 Rear.

before you buy a new set try to find otu what the spring rates are on your old coilovers.. I posted this a couple of days ago, a good way to go cheap on coilovers is tenzo R integra coilovers.. 450/550, more than enough for my EG that weighs under 2000lbs
yes, i drive with them on the street. And there is only one way in telling if your car will loose control and that's to push it some. Well i also have suspension technique sway bars, but i went around a nice semi bumpy turn at 70 and the car held very good. I've hit some pretty good dips doing 10 over and the car holds it's ground. I think 750 is the most you'd want to go on a car that is a daily driver. Also trbob16a is right, if you looking for a stiff spring but don't plan on going crazy number, the spring rate from the tenzo's look pretty good. Weight of the car isn't really gonna determine what spring rate you choose. I believe the more power you have, the higher spring rate you want in the rear so that your car won't slouch(spelling) and that way you keep traction up front

What coilover or spring system would you guys recomend for the heavier integra frame..
I don't really care about street driving because my main concirn is the track...
I have KYB 4 way adjustable struts right now and some neuspeed race springs...
(hate the springs) because they are way to low...

like, i said, i don't think it's the concern of weight here, it's more the amount of power your car makes. If it's mainly a track car, go with 900lbs in the rear and 450-500 up front. Ground Control is a nice addition to your kyb agx's, it's what i use. How much hp is your car making.

Generally I'm the overkill man but thats just how I operate
what would you recommend for that kind of hp....Adi
i hear you about the overkill, me too. If this is just a track car, go with the 900lb springs in the rear and the 450 up front. If it's a daily driver, for you safety and comfort i would just go with a 750 spring in the rear and 450's up front.
