I have no idea why there are white spots on my car. Maybe I drove behind a truck with paint? I don't know. I have no idea how it happened.

I think it's paint because if I use my fingernail I can slowly chip off a dot or two.

Is there a way to do this more safely though?

 

Well I would start with giving the car a good hand wash and see how much is left, if any, if that doesn't do anything or leaves a lot left I would probably use a clay bar on the affected areas.

You could also try goo gone, but I would save that or things like that for last.

 

There are many things that can safely take it off,
like WD-40, 3M Auto Adhesive Remover, Klasse All-in-one polish,
etc.

Your car's paint is already cured; so, those white
paint should be easy to safely remove.

gasoline works like a dream on stuff like this - just be sure to rinse it off immediately.
