Default Oxygen Sensors

What is the difference between a 1-wire sensor and a 4-wire sensor? My car is a 1993 honda civic with a 1-wire sensor which is not working. I recently obtained a new one but noticed it was a 4-wire sensor. Can I use it?

They are not interchangeable. The one wire heats up from the exhaust to produce the signal. The 4 wire has a heater element in it to heat it up faster so it starts producing the signal quicker. Also the 4 wire sensor might be a Air/Fuel sensor also which produces a different signal voltage wise.

1 wire = "broke ***" sensor
4 wire = "has some money after bills" sensor

Seems simple enough
