Faded wipers: How do I take them off to paint?
...Yet another cosmetic repair I need to make.
Over the years, the windshield wiper arms have faded from the original black color to the bare silver metal underneath. I want to take them off to coat them with some new black spray paint. How do I take them off? (It's the long part of the wiper after the spring hinge. You know, that part you lift when you wash the car...)
Thanks.
p.s. I still need a pair of hubcaps.

There's a nut on each arm that holds them on. Just take off the nut and pull it off. I'd suggesting cleaning them very well, lightly sanding them and then primering them. Then painting. I just spray painted mine and the paint just chipped away in a month. I'm going to repaint them soon. The main reason I did it was because the sun would glint off of them and blind me while driving.
As for hubcaps, there's lots of them for your specific car on ebay. You could probably get a whole set for $40.

I painted mine for the same reason of the sun glare, but they have chipped, but at least the part that glared isn't glaring anymore. I also put a piece of masking tape where the wiper blade was so when I put them back on they were at the same point again.
