Default White Smoke and Oil Leak?

Hey everyone, If anyone has had or knows what this problem could be, please inform me.

My 2002 Honda Civic EX (Manual) is leaking oil on the rear side of the engine (Passenger seat side), which drips right below the transmission. The oil leak wasn't too bad at first, but now is starting to get worse as time goes on. When I got home today the car was smoking white, but it was not overheating. The car was stable at a little bit below 200 F. Is this oil leak causing the car to release white smoke? I checked for a coolant leak and there was none. I always check oil levels before I drive the car so that I don't run on low oil, and I added oil recently so that the oil level is full. I want to believe that the oil leak is coming from a bad rear cam plug seal, but I'm afraid it may be a bigger issue.

So my question here is: Is the white smoke caused by the oil leak, or is it a bigger problem?

If there is oil burning it should result in dark smoke, so it doesnt sound like a oilleak. White smoke is usally coolant but you said the levels remain the same.

hate to say it but did you consider the fact that maybe your head gasket is leaking?? small amount of coolant burning results in white smoke, plus it would take a long time to notice the level dropping.

First thing first........look for the obvious or expected. Clean and reseal the cam plug and KNOW it can no longer be a problem.......and see if you are still leaking oil............

Check these, fairly common oil leak area (If that's what you have). White smoke does indicate a coolant leak, or burning coolant, which might mean a head gasket issue.

EGR Gasket
Oil cap? (Not sure what to call it)

Took me about 10 minutes and parts were cheap.

Thanks for your responses guys. Turns out that the oil leak was caused by an oil pressure switch that was leaking. The white smoke was just oil that was burning. Thanks again for the responses!
