99 EX Climate Control
Hello, H-T!
I'll keep it short: I bought a 99 EX coupe with a B16A swap and according to previous owner the A/C worked fine until the climate control stopped working.
All background lights come on but fan **** doesn't turn the fan on, A/C button will not engage compressor, circulation button does not change the flapper from inside air to outside air, cannot use my heater, etc.
No button does anything at all, not even the defroster.
Any ideas? I checked all wiring into the 2 climate control units and it was all plugged in.

Fuse blown? The "background lights" that light up the panel at night are on a different circuit.
All the functions of the panel are based on an internal computer, so if it is getting power it still can completely die like that.

Do what I did... pull the ac... even if you get your AC working perfect it'll still drain all your power/mpg while you're driving... +weight reduction lol

OP, check to see if the plugs are connected. IIRC, it has 2 main plugs for the AC controls.
My bad nv turbo, I didn't mean to be a dick! Op said that that he never had the AC working... previous owners always say it works
obviously he said he checked the wires so I am going to assum he checked the fuses. He has a b16 vtec swap. Just figured with all the
dweebs on Honda tech talking about removing the spare tire for weight reduction. One guy said he carries only paper money in his ash tray.
I still have my spare tire, but removing my ac components was around 50lbs of weight reduction. Spare tire only weighs close to 20lbs for a full size wheel. So just figured I'd recommend to remove AC components that's what I did one less belt for the crankshaft to turn, because it's usually costly to fix an AC and even when they work good, the AC on a civic is never that great... Not to mention the power mpg reduction... I live in SoCal, and temps get up to 120 in the summer, but I have a sunroof lol.

Op the main thing you want to check is if you are getting power. First check your ac relay, google on how to test one or you can test by switching it with another similar relay for example if there are any identical spec relays, usually there are... then make sure your getting power to your climate control wires when you flip the switch, a 12volt test light would be good. The blower resistor went out in my work truck, the switch wouldn't work, but the blower and compressor were good, after replacing the blower resistor, and some burnt wires my work truck ac is great now...

Btw NV turbo he said that the two wires were plugged in. Not the most helpful to tell him to check the two wires he already has checked and stated they were plugged in.

I will try this soon and report back. Thank you!
