I actually need it to hold the mainshaft while i torque down a bolt that sits on top of the 1st clutch pack in an m4ta crv auto transmission. If i wedge in a pry bar into the gears below it, the clutch pack just turns the mainshaft.
The blocks of wood and clamp didnt work....

Ah, I didn't look up the P/N. I presume you already asked your local Honda dealer? Most private shops won't rent or loan out tools. You can try automotivespecialtytool.net

Yeah I actually bit the bullet and bought the dang $85 one-time-use-for-one-purpose tool from hondapartsnow.com but they will have to order it from wherever because its not in stock.
Im still open to renting it out from anyone here if you guys have access to it.

I used a 22mm box end wrench, then packed the groves with finish nails. I used 2 different sizes of finish nails, some I had to gently tap in with a nail set and hammer. Once the wrench was firmly attached (no wobble) and turned the shaft, I then put a small bolt in one of the bellhousing holes to keep the wrench from turning. For me (SDMA trans) the mainshaft nut was a left handed thread, so I turned clockwise to loosen it. Worked great and was pretty quick.
wait I think I've done this before. if the transmission is in the car than the frame is holding it while you torque the nut right? dude all you need to do is shove a rag into the gears to jam it in place while you use a ratchet to torque the nut down.
it's the same concept, have someone strong hold it while you torque it or weld/ DIY a support brace to hold it. tell some guy at the gym you'll buy him snacks or drinks if he will hold the case while you wrench it. take off your shirt or underwear and jam it into the gears, you don't need a special $100 tool .don't use a impact wrench, the torque spec is specific
