hey guys. I have a 99 honda civic ex auto. i need some help trying to narrow down a short that is causing my ecu to keep burning up.
Anyone have an idea what this chip is for?

 

OBD2 is pretty much glazed over as it's not reprogram friendly.

I think your best option of deciphering what that chip might be for is get the pin out list for your OBD2(B?) ecu and see what pins trace to that chip. That might give you an idea of what that chip controls and help you isolate the short that is totally destroying that IC chip.
