1991 Honda Accord LX-no power to shift solenoid
Accord LX with 193K- the car is now skipping 2nd gear. Replaced TCU from a salvage yard. Solenoids seem ok via resistance test BUT I am not getting power to the
shift solenoid. Where do I look to remedy the problem?? OBD1 diagnostics show a flashing 7 which is a shift solenoid. Does the distributor have anything to do with this
as I know the DTC sensor is on its way out. Thanks for your reply!

Disconnect the wire harness from the solenoids.
Using a jumper wire, apply positive battery voltage directly to each terminal.
Solenoids should have an audible 'click' when powered on/off. If the solenoids click on/off then there is most likely a problem with the wire harness or pin connections at the TCU.
Look for looseness, corrosion, broken wires, broken/damaged wire harness or loose/corroded/damaged connections.
I don't think the TDC sensor will directly affect shifting, but an engine out of tune will greatly affect shift quality on the Accord.
FIx any known issues with the engine first. Reset the ECU/TCU by pulling the fuses and then check for any erratic behavior or codes.
