Ok, I've searched the website and have not found any answers that help my situation.
Car: 1988 Honda Civic DX 5 speed
Issue: Code 17 - Vehicle Speed Sensor fault (speedometer not showing speed)

Repairs Done:
Replaced Gauge Cluster
Replaced Speedo Cable

After Repairs:
Speedo Works

So, to give you story of the beginning to end. Maybe, 4 months ago, as I would drive my car and pick up speed, I would hear a grumbling noise. I thought is was wheel bearings. Come to find out, it was my gauge cluster. I noticed my speed would read poorly in correlation to the sound coming from the cluster. Eventually, it stopped reading all together and the CEL came on.

Ordered an OEM Speedo cable on eBay, picked up a gauge cluster from a 1989 Civic Si from the junkyard. Now having a tachometer, AND it was only 500mi about my true mileage.

Installed the parts, the gauge cluster began reading my speed. Under deceleration, the CEL still illuminates. Code 17. What could be the issue now?
