Default Where you you buy bare axles (with no CVs)?

I want to put together my own set of axles as I need nothing more that stock strength parts. Is there a list of axle specs? Seems like this is secret information. I have RSX base outers and Honda Fit Sport A/T inners FWIW.

There is limited information out there because most people don't rebuild anymore. You can get a pair of axles sometimes for 100$ at autozone with a lifetime replacement warranty, so for the money (if you can replace em yourself) theres not a huge reason go through that sort of headache. Plus you can contact companies who will customize these axles for you. You can research total compressed axle length, but if you're looking for like the actual center-shaft length and dimensions, this is really only used by rebuilders as most individuals don't care. Those who collect this sort of info will do a guess and check, ie go to a junkyard, rip the boots off and measure, write down, etc. So an axle company won't publish this information as theres no demand. You can try asking.

Call HAsport and ask them since they are the pioneers of things like that.

I am swapping a Honda Fit sport Automatic L15a into my 02 Insight. I have 2005 Civic LX hubs. This car 'might' have 10% more power than a stock Fit. I would like to just order axles and save money but I can only find complete axles. I really just don't want to spend $600 on axles.

Other than the mid shaft and the inner Fit joints, I don't have the axle parts yet. I was going to just buy new ones then I realized that buying individual axle components are not as readily available as I thought they would be. Im very close to sitting it on the ground and measuring to have 'the driveshaft shop' make a custom set and I'm sure they will be awesome but again, probably way overkill.

i would check on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and find OEM axles to build what you are looking for. once that is done i can tell you how to measure axles to make sure they are the correct length
