Default Civic awd system power limit?

Thinking about doing this awd project to my eg gsr turbo. What is the power limit to this awd system stock? Or can you built the transfer case and rear end? Which is better crv or civic wagon rear diff ? Can these stock awd system handle up to 500whp.

Id like to know too its getting very cheap to do it nowadays in europe when everyone sells their whole CRV for 800-1000 euro.

the wagovan rt4wd system from what I have researched is pushing the limits at 500whp depending on the torque and not launching the car. but really its usually the transfer case that fails first which may be good as crv transfer cases seem easier to find than the rt4wd components.

I recently finished building and tuning a d16z6 410hp awd wagovan. first time shifting hard to 2nd, the u-joints snapped. Had a custom driveshaft made with truck ujoints, everything has held up great since. 225/50/15 dunlop direzza tires all around, super sticky.

I am working on one myself. With that said, i dont think with todays tires and ecu management its needed for under 500whp on the street.

um, yes even with today's technology there is a huge difference in traction with awd vs fwd, especially on the street. It's a fairly well known fact that anything over 400hp is pretty useless on the street with fwd under 75mph lol. I personally can spin 3rd gear from a 70 roll on a colder day like clockwork [with lsd and sticky 17" street tires]

Then your not using todays technology. A motec system with bbg traction control and decent drag radials will easily hold 400whp fwd car.

I guess you've never launched a fwd and awd car from a dig side by side before to see how drastic of a difference there is at 400hp on drag radials or sticky street tires. no matter how good technology gets, traction is only as good as traction. front wheels pulling the car vs all 4 tires pulling the car is a HUGE difference in traction, and rate of acceleration.

im not talking about street racing fyi, im talking about a 400whp daily driver. If you are looking to get every bit of power down at that level why would you be using street tires. also he will be breaking that transfercase if he is planning to launch on the street . we are not talking about a evo or gtr here.

you're somewhat contradicting yourself here. a daily driver pretty much NEEDS to be on street tires. so I'm a little confused what your point is.
also, breaking the transfer case by launching on the street would heavily depend on how aggressively he launches the car, how pliable the tires are, and how much flex the clutch disc allows and it's pressure rating for said flex (sprung disc).

You'd do better posting this in the transmission and drivetrain section.
