I have that new alternator nearly in position. The split bushing is preventing the alternator from sitting inside of its lower mount. I tried to compress it with a socket and channel locks. Did not work. I also tried c clamps. The area is too small for those. Should I try to compress the bushing on the alternator instead or is there something else I can try?
