Project Audi holder below radio (part 1)
Well, I wanted to put some functional gauges in my CRX, but I didn't want to put them on the A-pillar. So, I learned from a good pal of mine that you can get some Audi or VW gauge holder and trim up the panel and insert that below the radio. Here are some quick pictures of the unfinished product.
I had to cut away the pocket below the radio, had to make it pretty big to fit the gauges.

I had to then cut around the gauge holder to make it fit snug. (*still not done yet!)

Then I put it in just to see how it would fit. As you can see, I still need to do a lot of trimming.

The neat thing about the Audi 4000 gauge holder is that it has a tilt to it towards the driver so you can see it nicely.

So, in conclusion, I still need to do a lot of work. I used the gauge holder out of a 86 Audi 4000. The VDO gauges I will not be using. They are electrical and I would need to wire up a whole sending unit through the engine. YUCK!
I will be using Autometer Temp, oil, and volt meter. Any questions ask!
BTW: I used a Dremel to do the cutting.
