Help,Can I put 91 motor into a 95
Will a 91 accord motor swap into a 95 accord, both are automatics: Are any modifications needed,. wiring, mounts, etc,..?
Also are the tranny's the same? Or would Mod's be needed on it too if I do a complete swap of Motor & tranny?
Thanks for Your help, it's much appreciated

it will swap but you will need to be sure you're in a state where it is allowed for smog purposes, some states won't allow you to swap an older engine into a newer chassis, california is one of them
I'm already aware of the emissions in general (which isn't a issue in TN).
My Question is " Are any modifications needed,. wiring, mounts, etc,..?

From what I have read, You can swap anything BUT How much aggravation in regards to Modifications has to be made is my question.

They are both OBD1 and they are both F22's of the SOHC variety. Therefore, the mounts and drive train are the same bolt-up configuration. These engines are plug and play. And as long as you have a non VTEC 1995 CD5 you will have no issues. If you have the F22B1 VTEC variation, you will require a non VTEC ECU to complement your Non VTEC 1991 F22A engine.
Thanks for your response I really appreciate it.
Couple other Questions if you happen to have any insight on & can help..
1.Are the Automatic Trans the same,..plugs & mounts,etc,,..
2.iyo Which would be easiest--> swap the entire Engine & tranny as one unit or just the motor.. & by which route dropping it out the bottom of car or pulling from the top..
The 95 has blown engine good tranny, the 91 donor , has both good engine & tranny, just totaled body..

What's the protocol on the distributors, as the 1991 F22A1 has the coil inside the distributor & the 1995 F22B2 has the Coil mounted to intake..
Do I remove the coil from the 1991 F22A1 distributor & then use the 1995 F22B2 coil & mount it to the F22A1 intake & swap distributor caps, so the plug-in for the coil is used?
Or do I swap the whole distributer?
Or just use the distributor already in the F22A1 & don't worry about the plug-in/boot not being plugged in on the 95's wiring harness for the separate coil that was on the intake ?
Any info is appreciated, thanks..

For anyone considering this same swap, Be advised it is NOT a simple plug & play!
We are in the middle of swapping the motors & have run into several issues making things frustrating to say the least..
Now if anyone that has personally done this same swap by chance & would like to share 1st hand knowledge, my 16 year old & I would love for the help in order to get his 1st car on the road..

You will use your existing distributor and coil. You will need to swap pins A6 and A11 at the ecu connector after popping open the back of the ecu connector.

You can use your existing tranny and tcu. You will need the accord ecu. You will need the accord driver side engine mount.

Now (not sure) If this is the same pin out schematics here ---> .:FFS TechNet : OBD1 ECU Pin out Schematics :.
So we have removed the pin terminals & pin A6 & A11 are not the same size, in order to swap them we would have to change terminals/ or splice wires or are we doing something wrong.. thanks
