sunroof tilt problem
1992 civic si
the open and close buttons work (top and bottom buttons)
the middle button (tilt) does not work when sunroof is closed
however when i open it a little with the top button and then press the middle tilt button, it just opens it to about halfway
i know the middle tilt button is suppose to tilt it up when the sunroof is closed however it does not
how can i diagnose this issue?

i find it strange that when i open the sunroof a little with the open button and then press the tilt button it opens it more to about halfway lol that tilt button should not do that it only is suposto work when it's closed to tilt it up and that's it
I would first check the fuses under the dash, No.1(30A) and No.14(20A)
Check the under dash fuse box, the area right above your left foot when seated or in the 7 or 8 o clock position from where the switch is(assuming its to the left of the steering wheel facing foward). I thinks there two of them, the OPEN relay wire colors: Grn/Blk, Grn/Red, Wht, Grn/Yel, and Blk & CLOSED relay: Grn/Blk, Yel/Red, Wht, Grn/Yel, and Blk. Inspect them for any type of damage then test for continuity.

Not sure why you swapped out the relays, but the motor might be nearing the end of its life. You could try looking at it when it's sliding back & forth, is it being stopped by something, off track, dirt, sticks, not aligned, rails rusted, cable needs replacement, etc. I would never replace anything until I find the source of the problem because I suck at gambling.
i tried different relays and different switch.. the motor seems fine it opens and closes fine.. tilt does nothing no noise nothing.. if i open the sunroof a little then press tilt it opens it to about halfway for some reason and that's it
I honestly do not believe you can access them without pulling the dash out.
They sit up beside the left drivers air vent on a metal bracket.
nvm, sounds like you found them.
You should see about getting an ETM for your vehicle.
My books are curently packed away so I can't post the relevant pages for you until after August when I move.
I'm experiencing almost the same problem, my middle button which is the "tilt" button doesn't work.
How to tilt my sunroof when it's close - Long press the close button
How to close the tilt back to flat - Press the slide in button several times until you see the sunroof kiss it's stopper. you need to get the perfect timing though, pressing the slide in too much will open it again.
I'll have this fixed soon.
