Default Looking to Replace Some Bearings

Car: 1997 Civic Coupe 5 spd 216k Miles
So I need a new clutch and I decided I'm going to go with the Exedy replacement clutch and flywheel. I know I need a new input shaft bearing so i'm going to buy one of those and a new seal. I was just wondering what else I should replace? I've heard replacing the pilot bearing, throw-out bearing and the seals along with it are a good idea. Anything else I should replace when the trannys already out?

It all depends on how far you want to go into the trans, and how much money you want to spend. If the trans is already out and apart, you might as well replace ALL the bearings/seals. So basically, pilot bearing (which SHOULD should come already installed in the Exedy flywheel), throwout bearing, main shaft bearing and seal, axle seals, may as well look at the slave cylinder (if it's leaking), shift linkage/stabilizer bushings, etc. Or you can do all that and replace every bearing in the trans.

Timken makes a set of all the major bearings and seals for the transmission.

Really only looking to spend about 250-75. Sounds good tough, thanks for the input.

How many quarts of transmission fluid do I put back in the tranny? I heard it was two quarts. I just want to verify that before I buy everything.

It seems to be slightly more than 2. If you're buying in quart bottles, get three.

How much do I have to tear the tranny apart to get to the mainshaft?

Did you ever figure your trans out, man? To get the main shaft out, the trans case has to be split. It's a daunting task, but once you do it a few times it becomes second nature. Easy peasy!

The rebuild kit is TIMKEN TRKH150 . $122.79 on Rock Auto. Boom
