cut car off and wont start back
i cut my car off its a ls vtec and before i cut it off the battery light was lighten up very dim but the car was running fine, so i cut it off and when i went to start it back nuttn. so i put a new battery in it and nuttn, some times i hear a little click but the starter wont engage it seems to me. what could this be the starter?
some people say tapping lightly on the starter with a wrench is a temporary fix. i actually seen this work on a GM truck. or maybe it was just dumb luck.
same thing happened to my friend. if you have a stick, try rollin the car back and forth a couple times. if its an automatic..try hittin it with a stick or something.
hmm when the alternator was dying on my sisters car the battery light would go on and off.. when it was near dying (w/in the next few minutes) she said all the lights on the dash started to flicker and stuff.. then the car just died.. it drained the reserve in the battery before dying so we had to replace the alternator AND the battery...
since you have a new battery... does everything else work (radio, lights, etc?) just trying to make sure the new battery is good... if you hear the click then the starter relay should be working... maybe your starter needs to be replaced.... have you tried having a friend (or use another car) to jump it? that way you know if its the battery or not...

Again, I don't know too much about Honda alternators but I'll give it a shot..
You said that the Battery Light was glowing a little dim and then you shut the engine off..
The reason why the Battery Light glowed dim is because the alternator isn't putting out enough current to replenish the battery and the feed the accessories running on the car.
What causes it?. I'm not too sure.. But I do know that from generic charging systems, your problem is you've got a burnt diode. And the alternator is not charging enough to supply the electrical system and charge the battery..
If knew what the internals of the Honda alternator were, I'd give you a specific answer..
Good Luck..
