I can't get the the alarm to stop going off. It stops eventually; but as soon as I start it back up again it goes off. I changed the battery in the remote. I have temporarily pulled out the relay which has stopped the obnoxious sound. I know it still goes off because the headlights still flash. Is there anything I can do besides disconnecting the whole thing?

 

Close the doors/hood/trunk. Lock the car and unlock the car with the key in the driver's side door. Get in and start it. This should work if alarm is functioning normally.

 

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure if that worked. I did it twice and then kept locking and unlocking out of frustration. Then I started pressing the unlock and lock buttons on the remote. I forgot to say earlier that these buttons did nothing before; but now it worked. The car stopped flashing. I still have the relay out; but I will wait until the day time to put that back in just in case. I don't know what made the remote work; so maybe your trick did help. Thanks!

 

Its kinda screwy but thats how Honda makes em. I've chased down a man half in/half out of his Honda Odyssey (going down the road with his alarm going off. He thought driving it would get it to stop then became frustrated. I jogged up to him and got him to stop the car with one leg hanging out and the door open. I told him to put it in park and get out. He let me hop in. I was leaving work and he knew who I was enough to trust me. Every couple months I have to go outside and remind my neighbor who I sold my 2000 Accord to about this trick. Everyone has done it. The key is to remember this weird occurrence, when the alarm is honking.

 

Any time I have an issue with the factory Honda alarm I lock it and unlock it with the key in the door and it trusts that I am not trying to steal it.
