94 accord lx massive oil leak
My 1994 accord lx is gushing oil somewhere around the filter. As in, within 30 seconds of starting it all the oil is on the ground. The filter itself looks ok. I know the pressure switch is known to leak, but I don't see how that could put out that much oil. I cleaned the area and restarted it and could not see much oil anywhere except on and directly below the filter. I know the filter is not double gasketed. Any ideas?
Oil pressure switch is just after the filter, which is fed directly from the oil pump. If the oil pressure switch is loose or leaking it will make a mess in short order.
Don't discount a faulty or damaged oil filter either.

the thing that the oil filter connects to is a housing, there is a gasket inside that is known to leak but if yours is gushing you need to look at where, you might have that housing cracked or somehow the bolts ofr it loosen by a lot, not normal. and yes the oil filter should be your main suspect. try a new filter like a cheap fram
Yep that's all it was, the filter. Put a new one on and it's doing great! Thanks for your help guys, I didn't know filters were known to do that, but now I do!
