Default Confused Civic

Hello all fellow HTC ppl forgive me if this is in the wrong spot just wasn't sure what it fit the best so with that said il start from the beginning I bought a 1998 Honda Civic ex coupe on the cheap a month or so ago and after having it a little bit and having a closer look the previous owner has put a d16z6 bottom end with a d16y8 head in the car and from what I can see it still has the factory P2P ecu in it and the issues are IV got a cel light on with a knock sensor code as well as a srs light on and my car runs like **** and I'm not sure exactly what to do I was thinking about changing the ecu to a chipped p28 with a jumper harness and go from there any advice would be greatly appreciated

The SRS code is totally separate... no ECU choice will turn that light out. You will have to solve that by checking the SRS trouble codes and trouble-shoot that system from there.

Using a P28 and a jumper harness will turn the KNOCK sensor code out, but that will not necessarily cure the "runs like ****" problem as you put it. Has it run this way ever since you purchased it or is this a recent development ???
