Should I be running any quicker?
I just went to the dragstrip yesterday in my Bone Stock ITR.
R/T .541
60' 2.363
330 6.513
1/8 9.834
MPH 74.20
1000 12.668
1/4 15.074
MPH 94.29
I had Pirelli P700s with tire pressure at 25psi launching from 3800RPMs.
Is this about right or can I get more out of it...I was hoping to hit 14.9s.
My car weighed in at 2575Lbs, Full Interior, with Spare tire, Jack, and Tools. It really is fresh off the showroom floor and straight to the dragstrip.

Looks like your launching kind of low. 3800 seems kind of low to me specially with a type-r. How many miles on the car, maybe the motor isn't really broke in yet, just some suggestion or maybe its your driving, wheather ect.....

Magazines have tested a best of 14.7 on a stock Type R.
Well, lower psi to like 22 then try launching higher...also try to slip it at like 5000-6000rpms but don't gun it, give jsut enought gas to stay in between 5500-6500rpms...then when you feel it hook gun it and be ready to shift to 2nd fast right at 8400-8500 rpms...should be a much better time that way, but it takes practice, also try to ride the clutch just a little while you are sorta spinning to have more control over it....basically you wanna slip it out in between 5000-6000 and then keep it in a good power band at like 6500 or around there but not burning the tires like crazy, just keeping them hooking up and pulling you foward, then gunning it when you have traction....
Thanks guys,
I'll try those tips the next time I go. Hopefully soon, or else I'd have to wait till spring to go again, by that time...I won't be stock anymore.

Try to drop some of that misc. weight and get some normal wear on the motor. The previous launch advise is good. Personally I prefer the upper of the given range, mentally I fear the car dropping to the low cam. I know, I'm just weird. Left foot is just as important than right if not more...
Yeah actually the best range is 6500-7000 id say with good tires like azenis or s-03's, but depending on psi maybe more, like 16-18 psi probably like 7000-7500 with a bit of riding the clutch slightly, mostly will be equaling gas for a little bit then gunning probably lol

dont ever launch that car that high on the stock clutch , im telling you now if you get sticky tires you will smoke that clutch garunteed.
you should be running mid to low 14's. Ive seen many (Stock) ITRs run 14.6 or lower.
When u launch, try not to give it mash the gas to the floor, modulate it till u feel like your tires are hooking up and then go WOT.
I used to have the same problem (spinning way to much), just be easy on the gas till u get some traction.

Well remember i didn't mean to gun it WOT up there
, only to get it going then give it enought to keep it there then when its hooking up gun it...

I ran a season of drag racing this year on a stock clutch.......launched at about 5500 on street tires 22 psi or so....2.3 60's spinning like crazy
Bought drag radials cut a 2.08 and lowered my best ET considerably.
Now I launch at about 6500-7000 open header but after 50+ full drag lauches and associated "warm up" clutch dumps the clutch is beginning to show its life span. Held up well for 16K miles and a full season without baking itself.....I would imagine though with a few launchs on slicks you could bake one pretty easily if you werent careful. IMO
