Turn over won't start issues 98 civic pls help
Okay. So car would turn over but wouldn't start so with my Haynes manual started at step one. Determine fuel pump is fine and injectors are fine. Problem is coming from the first plug in the ECU. When I unplugged this specific plug my #44 fuse under the hood did NOT blow. And through series of elimination. I have determined that the short that is causing my fuse to blow is in the brown/black wire coming off the ecu which from my understanding is the lead ground that splices into like EVERYTHING. I'm really at a stand still here and am looking for advice. Whether it be how to pursue the short... or just cut my losses and scrap my car. Anything will be helpful at this point thank you
Your description makes no sense. A fuse not blowing is hardly a diagnostic I'd be willing to use.
Let's back up.
You say the fuel pump is ok. What is your fuel pressure in KOEO position, under idle, under load (> 3000 rpm) and at idle with fuel pressure regulator disconnected and plugged? How do these values compare with what's in the service manual?

I just need help troubleshooting a short in the electrical. Using wire diagrams, other forums and a multimeter I followed the short to a plug in my ECU but the wire diagram says that the wire that's shorting out grounds a lot of circuits and from my basic knowledge of electrical that means any of those systems could be causing the short. Is there an easier way to find the short besides disassembling my dash and removing all my wire harnesses to be checkd wire by wire?
