Possible Civic purchase.

I am thinking about buying a Honda Civic as an Accord is kind of out of my budget to buy. I'm willing to splash out 9k and was wondering if a 2011 Civic Coupe LX is a perfect car to modify.

modify in what sense.. look, suspension or engine wise? Engine is a dog in stock form. Not much aftermarket support.
