1993 Accord Shuts Off While Driving
I just got a 1994 Accord 10th anniversary with 122,500 miles. One day it randomly shut off while going down the highway. Electrical was all on but the engine shut off. Pulled over and it started up and ran like nothing happened. Today the same thing happened. I have no CEL's. I turned it on and wiggled the key to see if it would turn off but it didn't. I'm thinking it might be the distributor or something like that. This happened on my 69 Mustang and it was fixed when I replace the coil. I really don't know anything about cars that don't have carburetors. Thanks in advance
This sounds like a typical honda main relay issue but to be sure I would get a $20 harbor freight fuel pressure tester, hook it up, and lay the hood down on it with the gauge facing you in the windshield while you drive around. When the car tries cutting off see if the gauge shows a drop in pressure. If not, then the issue is likely distributor related.
