Default what block should i get?????

I currently have a b16 but want a bigger displacement... should i get a gsr block or just an ls block? i want to get a block and use the b16 head i have now. i want it to be an all motor setup so headwork and block work will be done to it... which one should i get? any suggestions?

just get the b18a or b block and bust a lsVTEC. the block is cheaper than a gsr block and it has more displacement. but be prepared for some hardcore maintenence.

here this might help you out a little bit, look at the reliability section on this page http://www.importreview.com/reviews/lsvtec.html

different cranks(strokes) is why the displacement is different, but they have the same blocks (well not too sure, but they all have the same bore size)

personally....i got a GSR motor...because its more reliable PERIOD. if you get your LS/VTEC done right...and take care of it...you should have no problems....but i havent heard anything but bad from those

vtec bottom ends own. hands down. they will last longer and run better. B18C1 would be my choice, as you are probably changing the pistons, possibly rods, and a full balance is in order. better way to get type r quality with higher compression.
