Icon5 Wax inlet coolant hose replacement

Hi and thanks in advance for any assistance. My 93 Del Sol SI, with the D16Z6 engine, has a coolant leak from what I believe is the Wax inlet hose part 19521-P08-000 Hose, Wax Inlet that runs from the bottom of the throttle body to under near the middle of the manifold behind the thermostat housing. I was wondering how to get at the manifold end of the hose to replace it?

It is really buried and I think I might be able to get an angle on it by removing the throttle body, but I thought I'd check with y'all first to see if someone could direct me with the best approach for the replacement. I can see it will not be much fun, but would appreciate your advice to save some time..

I am attaching a parts diagram (part # 7) and a photo. You can see the visible end of the hose underneath the throttle body at the end of my red handled probe before it goes down and twists under the fuel rail toward the manifold.

Thanks again.

Or with curved nose needle nose you can probably get to the spring clamp on the hose just under the fuel rail.

It's tight quarters but doable.

Even though what he said above is much easier and the TB gasket is not that much.

Unbolting the throttle body would also give you a valuable chance to clean it out, oil residue does tend to build up in there and affect performance/operation. A few extra minutes for a rare bit of maintenance is a win.

Thanks will dive in this weekend. Hopefully, wont take more than an hour or two from start to finish. I think I might look at it from below also to see if there is an opening to get at it from that angle.Appreciate advice from anyone that has done one.

Dont bother trying from under the car. No room. Manifold in the way.

Finished. took a couple of hours. Unbolted the throttle body. The biggest challenge was trying to compress and remove the clamp. Settled in on brute force to get at the clamp. Used a needle nose to pry out the hose. Then was able to get at and remove the clamp. Used a pretty strong hemostat to place the clamp on the new hose. Removal was more difficult than replacement.

Thanks for your help.

Im attempting this exact same repair today and I was going to just remove the hose (bypass hose?) somewhat next to and on top of the wax inlet hose. Glad I saw this first.
