SO! I am starting this journey. I already have a 1991 Honda Civic Wagon auto in my possession, but the engine is.. in a complicated state of disassembly. So my friend prompted the idea of a b20 swap with the RT4WD transmission, since it would cost around the same as replacing the original engine! So, thats what I'm going to do. I already found a seller on ebay that is selling JDM b20 engines within budget, and I can find the transmission for the RT4WD on ebay and still be in budget. That part is no problem. The parts I am worried about are.. I don't really know what parts to get after that. Its going to be a manual six speed, and i know that I'll need conversion parts to make it a proper manual car. I just dont know those parts in detail.

I was wondering, can anyone give me a list/supply a link to a list of parts I'll need to make this swap successful? I do have a friend that will be helping me who is a trained master mechanic, so If I stumble on any parts, he will help me along. I am going to try to do most of it myself as a learning experience. Can anyone help me? ;w; Are there any conversion plates I'll need for attaching the b20 to the transmission? Literally any help is appreciated.

 

You'll want a CRV AWD trans to make this work..even then there are a lot more complications that I am unsure of.

 

i have a manual crv trans i don't need.
don't think the b2d plate will work on the rtawd trans.

 

Basically nothing about what you want to do will work.

 

B20 found on eBay is within budget for this build.

Step 1- buy good running AWD CRV 97-01.
Step 2- take all the driveline out of CRV and put into wagon (lots of welding and custom fab work)
Step 3- enjoy
