My old throttle body is all jacked up and i need a new one. But before i go off and buy a another one i just wanted to know what's the exact diameter of the throttle body or is it all 96-00 civic throttle diameter size is all the same?

 

The Si has a 60mm T/B. The EX is slightly smaller at 58mm.

 

I see. So the question is, should i stick with a 60mm throttle body or upgrade to something bigger like a 60-70mm+ throttle body instead? Will a bigger throttle body increased or decreased my vehicle performance?

 

You wont' see any gains with a larger TB if you don't tune the car. And without tuning the car, you might actually hurt the response or performance of the car with the larger TB.

Also, using a larger TB most likely means port matching the intake manifold (IM). If you don't port match then it's no different than the stock TB but with a lip/ridge to cause more shock waves in the pre IM air tunnel, which could potentially choke the car out to some degree as well as negate any gains from a velocity stack.

 

Aight. There's a guy trying to sell me his GSR TB along with the TB cable. Should i go for it? Will the TB and cable be compatible with what i'm looking for in terms of oem spec?
