How is it that ca twin turbo supra making 700 horsepower to the wheels only run a 12 sec run on slicks, when a friend of mine making 280 horsepower in his gsr ran a 12 sec run on slicks fully interior. Maybe it's the driver but 700 horsepower can even with a bad driver should still run faster than that.

 

Come on man, of course that car probably had problems. Stock trim supras run 13.4s or quicker.

 

have you ever driven a supra they aren't as easy to launch compared to a gsr plus there is a factor of weight.

flip is right. the toyota supra is not a car meant for drag racing. if u do a highway pull with that supra be prepared to get molested. do u think anything with 700hp will hook on the street? u might have a chance if the supra guy will actually do a quarter mile race. around here (jersey) supra guys will only do either a 1 mile race or a 3rd gear and up highway pull. the supra ran a 12 at wut mile an hour. u need to look at the mile an hour. 12's at 120+ ive seen supras run 12.2's at well over 120. they dont hook but up top forget it.

Because if you check that dyno graph for the supra, you'll notice that all its power is up top. Go on a Supra board and you'll notice that all their kills are usually 'highway' kills.

Extremely high, peaky power output is not great for drag racing.

 

supras barely get traction, i make fun my friend because he ran a 15, 14, 13, and one 12 second run. he has 450 hp BPU+ supra. and he was trrying his hardest....their tricky to drive.

 

I've been raped by a couple single turbo supras on the freeway. First time was also the first time I topped out boosting... rev limited. That's some sick **** my friend
