You could do some basic mods. A F23 intake manifold with port match throttle body. Are you wanting to keep it natural or turbo?

I purchased a 94 Accord EX for its engine and trans. It had a F22B1 with a manual trans. The only real difference is your engine doesn't have VTEC. To give you an idea of what you can do, here an idea of what I'm doing. I'll be sending my engine to the machine shop really soon. It's getting a 1mm over bore and notched for the H-beam connecting rods. Still need to tap the hole for the 1320 balance shaft eliminator kit. So when the machine shop washes the block, all the shavings come out. 1mm over sized valve job to the cylinder head. I'll do the port and polish myself. I port and polish my old Honda race bike I use to run myself. F23 intake bore matched to throttle body. 440cc injectors. Oh, I forgot about the turbo. Check out my thread on here to see what it's going in.

I don't know maybe a turbo eventually but it's over 200 k miles so I feel like I'd want to rebuild it for a turbo setup..And if I did that then I'd see about just going all out on it but the maybe an engine swap with a better engine..I was thinking about just buying a junkyard engine and building it while this one still runs... good engines??

I'm not experienced in engine building so I'd definitely like something to get me started

If you look further down I have a 1994 5 speed LX I am swapping an F23a into. If you are worried about the age of the motor, a motor swap of any variety might be a good choice for you.

I've built 6 engines, mostly sport bike engines. My last major modified engine was in my CBR F3 race bike. It had a laundry list of things done.

2mm overbore Wisco pistons
HRC cams and sprockets
Factory Pro race jet kit
EBC race clutch pack
1 1/2 lbs lightened crankshaft, knife blade cut.

Just to name a few. Was a nice rev happy engine until the #2 rod wanted to come out. The circlip on the wrist pin popped out of its grove on the track. Only at 150 MPH at 13K RPM just before going into the fastest corner. The rod broke into 3 pieces but didn't lock up the engine. I took all the pistons to an engine shop buddy of mine. He checked all the circlip grove depth and said it wasn't cut correctly. Ended up have to get another engine to rebuild but couldn't use the crank, piston or rods again.

Rebuild the bottom end the strongest you can. That way if you want to add a turbo later you won't have to open it back up. That's the only part you can't rebuild with the engine in the car.
