Default Buying a H-Series powered 97 EXR coupe!!!

Hi guys this is my first post in this forum, though oddly enough the site layout to me is very familiar because its almost exactly the same as airsoftcanada.com!
Ok, that aside, im going to be buying a 97 exr coupe with a H22 engine in it, not sure which H22 but i will find out soon enough. My question is what is the best way for me to gain another 40-100hp?
Ive got maybe up to $3000 to spend on the setup, please keep in mind that doesn't mean i can buy $3000 worth of parts, gotta pay a mechanic to do the work. This car will be a daily driver, not looking to make 400hp.
Its already got a full quality exhaust setup, and few other small things. Im located in Toronto, Canada so that is $3000 CAD, about 2250 USD

$3000 will go alot faster than you think. If you were doing the work yourself then perhaps, but if you're factoring in labor, don't even bother thinking about it for now. Just make sure the engine is healthy and buy a good set of tires and drive it to enjoy it. Use the $3000 on tires, springs and shocks, a good dual-friction clutch disk, and entry fees to autocross sessions. If you're asking how to get another 50% out of your engine on a shoestring budget, then you;re not ready for that extra power. Patience is a virtue and both you and the car will still be here a couple years down the road.

Thanks for the reply, the car is already good to go when it comes to the tires, they are brand new. Also has a pretty good coilover setup and a brand new dual friction clutch. Brakes are all it needs to be road worthy, and with this 97 exr its got a 5 bolt converson done to it. Just wondering what kind of things I can do to get more power. In that department its got a full 2.5 inch madrel bent exhaust with some Japanese brand headers and muffler. No cats.
