Default 2006 Accord 2.4l no compression

I had to tow my Honda to a shop since it wouldn't turn over. It had been sluggish and would stall occasionally according to my hubby who drives it every day. They tested the battery, alternator and starter with everything checking out OK/. They performed a diagnostic test with no codes showing up. Now they say I need to replace the timing chain, and that I may need to just replace the engine. Is this true or are they "pulling my chain."

if it has no compression a chain wont have much affect. no compression means at least one cylinder is dead. honestly no compression means engine overhaul or new engine.
