How to identify my zc dohc motor so I can buy a dustributor
Hello I'm having trouble finding out which zc engine I have I'm needing to but a distributor for it. On the engine stamp it has zc2212372 and it's a dohc non vtec and on the head between the cam gears it has D engraved in it. If anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it thank you.
if you have a P28 ECU, you need a TD43U distributor - the P28 ECU is a VTEC ECU and won't work very well with that ZC - the correct ECU would be a P29
EDIT: your ZC with that serial number beginning with a '2' was originally OBD0 and may have been converted to run as OBD1
the plugs on the TD43U should look like this:

Any chance you can snap a pic of your distributor? Specfically the leg where the marking is, something lilke "TD-42U" or similar alphanumeric code. Also might be worth a shot of the whole engine bay.
FWIW I think the only real visual difference you'll immediately see is whether or not there is a sensor on the exhaust cam. I believe only the older pre OBD versions had it. This would also correspond to a different distributor being used.
