Icon5 D17 block differences?

I looked through the FAQ and I did a bit of searching but was unable to find any information on block differences other than piston variances found here.

Is there any differences between the handful of D17 blocks besides the piston design?

I'm familiar with the 92-00 series blocks and know in the 92-95 there are some pretty significant differences in the blocks. Deck height varies, rod length varies and even journal sizes vary depending on the block.

Is there these same kind of challenges between the D17 blocks or is the crank and rods all the same dimensions?

D17 deck heights do not vary, from what I've seen. I'm not 100% certain, as I've not seen hard data on them, but I think even the rod length and journal sizes don't change between the various versions. I think the only primary changes are isolated to piston differences and valvetrain differences.

Thanks toyomatt84.

So is it the general consensus that there is not one D17 block that is stronger than the others?

As for the D17, I do not know of any differences between the blocks themselves.
