Default D16y8 build.... Need help please

Hey man I have a D16Y8 VTEC 5-speed motor it has a 99 to 2000 head. I am putting it in my 97 my 97 Civic LX which previously had a d16y7 non VTEC automatic. I want to stick with my original wire harness. I have a 37820 p2e AO3 and p2e a04 and also p28 a01. I've already done transmission conversion. My intake manifold has the air assist valve for the cold start which I hooked up to the thermostat housing. D16Y8 intake manifold with IAC valve did the two wire conversion from three wire. Use the orange wire to run for my knock sensor, ran wire for the VTEC pressure and Vtec solenoid to the cabin for ECU. What computer do I use and what's OBD is my motor. And what should it be. Sitting in the garage just waiting to hear back from you thanks man. one love

I'm not a expert on swap conversions, but as far as the diag flavor, your 99 D16Y8 should be OBD2B, so should be able to use your 99 Ecu in the 97 (OBD2A) with the appropriate rewiring/provisioning for VTEC, etc. You could always just pull the harness out of the 99 as well.
