Am I safe to Turbo?
So I have been doing a lot of research trying to figure out and understand Pros and Cons of putting on a turbo for my B20b. I have seen a lot of people only feeling comfortable with 10psi but I personally don't know if that will get me to my goal of right around 350whp. I have seen that sleeves are also a pile of crap for b20's and I am just as of tomorrow buying a new b20b since I blew up my last one and I don't want to have that happening again. So my question for you guys Is what maintenance should I do to my motor itself to ensure its not gunna blow. along with what kind of turbo set up should I look at? I'm looking a spending about 1500-2000$ on my set up including a hondata s300 But any advice/ help would greatly be appreciated! The set up will be in a 1994 GSR
You should go to the Forced Induction forum, read the FAQ 10 times, then repost. You'll make more sense and get a better response. You will start to think of things like drivability, traction and powerband, over PSI and peak WHP (which mean nothing).
For a reliable 350whp, I would go with CSS (cylinder support system) to reinforce the sleeves, They guarantee to 400whp, so I think sleeving would be overkill at this power level. Then of course Forged rods and 84.5mm pistons, new oem main/rod bearings, ARP headstuds and a new oem head gasket.
