Default R18 build ability??

First of sorry if im postin in the wrong place but figured this would be the best place

So heres the deal I bought a 2012 Civic 4dr w/R18......b1 (ibelieve) so SOHC Ivtec just for a family commuter and.........I LOVE IT!! i turn eco mode off and this baby WALKS hemis on the free way like a puppy first time on a leash
Looked around a bit and i can pick up an r18 for rather cheap......so my question is would it be worth makin my next project motor??
Is it a worthy build without having to throw THOUSANDS into it??
Just curious to see what or if anybody has done a build on one......get some ideas

Kind of a shame there isnt more support for it since it really is a great engine.
it's just so over shadowed by the K motors which are very pleniful and have more potential.

See and thats my thing is everybody wants either Kseries or DOHC Bseries i like doin different builds
and with how awesome this thing is STOCK and AUTO.....throwt it in somethin smaller and lighter w/ a new cam, maybe a lil bigger pistons couple lil basic tweeks and a clutch
but i wanna know if they are built for it like the specs claim.....and im seein 400+hp builds so i think im gunna go with it

Honestly if you aren't putting a turbo on it you will be very disappointed!

Even with full bolt ons and cams and a clutch you will be left wanting more. I wouldn't bother doing boltons on it just slap a turbo on it make some 300hp and call it a day.

Honestly I would go kseries just cause you can do a few different builds with the r18 you are more limited and money will become an issue.

Honestly pushin 300 out of a lil EG coup or somethin would be more then satisfactory for me. Iv been lookin around idk that I will actually stay with the r'18' but i definitely want to toy with the Rseries.

iv thought bout boostin it but iv heard of a lot of problems when boostin with vtec, and iv been lookin into some of the special features on the Rseries motors and dont think boostin would be my best option....it has a special intake function that i kinda like and want to try and work around and keep for DAILY driving if possible but then again could very easily be wrong cuz im just now gettin into hondas over the last year or so and still learning
But dont have the motor or the shell yet so right now.is just R&D gotta help the wife finish her new project before i get a new one

But as it stands right now only 3 cars that have stepped to my stock 2012 have actually beat me off of straightpower
1.almost completely built high comp b20
2.partially built mini cooper
3.partially build & boosted Xseries Infiniti
Now im bound and determined to change that with a lil sleeper EG or EK make some minor tweaks and see what comes of it
