Hi, I have this:

B18 cable trans with hydro LS gear set, ITR LSD, 4.9FD.

what gears are compatible or a decent upgrade?

i happen to have usdm itr 1,3,4,5 gears sitting collecting dust somewhere in my garage.

 

If you want to use the ITR 3/4 gears you'll need the larger BVTEC synchros, hub, slider and shift fork.

 

Have you considered running the stock 1-4 LS gears with the 4.92 final drive and simply replace 5th with a B16/ITR gear pair ??? This is what I am going to do with my road race Teg... I bet Aquafina might even give his seal of approval on this combination for a moderate powered road race or autocross car.

 

This is a spare (autox / street) tranny that I have.

My other tranny in the "racecar" is hydro with an itr 2nd gear and ATS 1/3/4/5 gears, ATS 4.9 final and ATS metal LSD.

For most courses, I only use 2nd and 3rd gear.

I also have have a spare ATS first gear - but it's for a tranny with a 4.4 final drive, so I'm not sure if it would be compatible with my LS cable tranny.

​​​​​​​i think at some point (not in the near future) I'd like to try a tranny that runs up to about 78mph in 2nd gear - that would be ideal IMO.

 

For street cars I don't mind the LS gears and a shorter FD, but I don't like them for most tracks. Autocross could be ok depending on the course layout and power output.
