Spring ringing sound - 95 Civic CDM CX with D16Z6 motor swap
Hi all,
1995 CDM CX EH2
Stock suspension with the exception of rear LCAs are from the 94-97 Integra so sway bar can be added.
Other mods include D16Z6 motor and ECU swap. Wiring to shock tower updated.
Cheap 4-2-1 Spec-D tuning header and exhaust
AEM CARB compliant Short Ram Air Intake
Car and suspension have over 400,000 Kilometers. Rear trailing arm bushings are shot. Rest of the bushings appear to be normal. Manual steering rack, boots ripped last year so I poor man wrapped them with plastic groceery bags, taped it real good to the tie rod bar and zip tied the bag to the boot accordion section. Has served well to keep dirt and water out of the greased area until I have the time and space to redo the rack properly.
Now to the incident.
Last week I was driving and braked pretty solidly (front tires just barely started chirping) for a yellow to red light.
From the front I heard a tang/ping and then spring ringing much like a bell resonates. It sound like it came from the front. And it sounded like a miss seated strut spring popped into place and rang from it for a moment or two.
I drove just a touch further into the gas station and I checked my struts and didn't see anything out of the ordinary (no breaks or whatnot).
I was wondering if anyone knew what else could possibly make that spring ringing sound up front on the car? Disc brakes don't have any springs to break so I am a bit at a loss. Or if it's possible for the strut spring to "pop" into place and create the sound.
I have not done a solid suspension inspection as it's bloody cold outside still and the car seems to be driving and handling well.
Any insights are appreciated.

If I don't find any issues even after I double check the torque on the shock towers nuts, I will keep this in mind as my ears could have played tricks on me and mistaken the pong of the tire for the ting of the spring.
Thank you both for your suggestions. I greatly appreciate the feedback.
