Check engine light still on? 97 ek sedan lx
So 5 days ago I bought a 97 civic lx sedan and I had two Cels on. One for the intake temp sensor and my downstream 02 sensor. So today I replaced both sensors and the Cels are both still on. Any suggestions? Motor is stock d16 with just an intake.
Did you reset the ecu after you replaced the parts?
unplug the negative battery post for 10 mins. Reconnect. Start the car. See if the gel come back.

If you have the stock radio, make sure you have the radio code before you do this, however. The radio code is usually written somewhere in the owners manual.
I had the battery unplugged for almost a hour while installing the parts. When i clear the codes with my scanner they instantly come back on. And it has a aftermarket radio.
If they come back on instantly then you are probably looking at some sort of wiring issue, either plugs, pins, or the wires themselves. The o2 sensor code should take 10-15 minutes MINIMUM to come back if it was just the sensor.
yeah, thats what i figured was going on. I'm gonna check all the wires and connectors this weekend. i just thought i would ask. im just getting into the honda game lol i came from owning a subaru so its nice to have a car that is semi reliable lol
