Welcome to the side of things.

I'm sure you'll be happy with the car once you get modding on it.

Which is better for the B16A, boost or N/A?

Normally I wouldn't say one is better than the other, but in this case I must say boost.

Why?

Unless you want to stroke the B16A it will always have the cc disadvantage to the B18 and B20 series motors. Bosst doesn't really care if you're 1.6 or not.

I have a friend who runs his full interior'd 2000 Si coupe with a JRSC on it. He's had the stock B16A boosted well over 60K miles with NO problems at all. He recently boosted it up to 12psi with a CR-V crank pulley and is busting 13.1 in the 1/4 mile while still full interior and driving well over 50 miles per day.

Supecharger or turbo for boost?

Look on the first page of topics here and find a topic created by vtecvoodoo that talks about supercharging vs. turbocharging for Hondas.

If you have any questions about your Honda or this site in general, fell free to e-mail me since I don't think you can use the IMs until your 20 day trial period is over.

Welcome once again, and thanks for having a meaningful first post - that means a lot to all of us!

Welcome.

Meet Tom up there..our friendly admin.

If you want to go all motor, don't do it with a b16.

H22 or B18c5 in a hatch will do you good.

Welcome and become good friends with the search button.

Reppin' San Diego! What's up man???

I'd have to agree with them, you can only go so far with an all-motor B16. It's lack of torque just kills me. So yeah, boost that biatch! B16s love boost!

Deffinately boost. I've seen some horrible aftermaths with B16 turbos and some GREAT ones. The key is tuning, just like with any other setup. I would suggest a T3/T4 hybrid setup and Hondata 3B

You need to boost. b16 is the torqueless wonder and your SI is pretty heavy. You`ll spend a ton going the all motor route to run low 14`s. Get a Drag kit and call it a day.
