Car is a 1993 Del Sol S. Belongs to my daughter and it's a sure DIY'ers dream. (some sarcasm - :-) )
Can anyone tell me what this bracket is for on the firewall?
Something I'm missing or just a stub for a higher model feature?

I'm not well versed on the Del Sol.

My first impression is it was added aftermarket by a previous owner. But really, I do not know.

Aftermarket alarm siren bracket.

 

Yes exactly. Those are hardware store self-drilling screws. You can just remove it.

Also check under the dash that the rest of the alarm system has been properly removed and the wiring restored to stock.

 

Sweet!! Thanks to Caoboy and MK378. That's what it is! About a year ago, right after she got the car, I ripped out a wad of wires, tape and a small control box from under the dash. From the markings I determined it was an alarm. I was worried nothing would work after tearing it all out. It was a mess. Thanks to all who replied. The bracket will definitelybe gone in the morning. (thanks for the bump Tomcat39)
