Short answer is no. The ECU's look for different sensors between the AEM and Hondata to control the ignition.

long answer:

AEM EMS can do coil on plug with stock distributor. ( remove rotor, coil and use cap as a cover, or get fancy billet bwr cover ) . Then convert to direct fire ( if the AEM EMS has 4 coil outputs ) if not run wasted spark . If you wanted better input signal then you can run the AEM EPM ( that replaces completely the distributor and you MUST run a different ignition system eg coil on plug ) or you can run the hall effect sensor off the cam wheel ( eg T1 )

If you have hondata, then you can run the hondata conversion system ( CPR ) .

I'm failing to see where you are saying the AEM COP conversion kit can be used with Hondata. You even said AEM EMS, not Hondata. The OP wasn't looking to see if an AEM EMS can do COP with a stock distributor...

I was trying to shed some light ( and for future searches ) on AEM being able to do it very simply and better than hondata in many cases ( as it gives the possibility of changing input signal ) .(but i dont want to enter the AEM vs hondata for the millionth time )

you can buy a V1 AEM EMS for much less than hondata S300 and CPR kit .

Nice save on the edit because the CPR kit isn't waste spark. You're making Canadians look worse.
