Default need help!!

Hi I recently got a cheap 96 civic with a cvt. It all goes well but the transmission seemed to struggle with finding the right gear and surges for about 10 seconds until it finds it also it surges going up hill and when idling and you put it in drive. I took it to a mechanic and he said it's on the way out also the fluid is dirty and somewhat burnt but he recommended not changing the fluid because it may go completely. I need it for about 2 more months what would you recommend? I was thinking about topping up the fluid.

What was his reasoning behind the "it may go completely" if you change the fluid?
dont know about you but, if the fluid is old and burnt. It need to be change. It may even fix your issue. Fresh lubricant would be way better then old, dirty, burnt stuff. You need to get a second or third opinion from a Honda mechanics. Don't just believe one person.

Chances are your car atf has never been change. Would be the right thing to do to change it out.
