I noticed it with the D series calculator, it doesn't realize you can't just use D16 rods on a D15 crank, but it crunches the numbers just fine to give you the compression/power.

My Suggestion Is If You Want More Power Look Towards Bolt Ons Not Internals. Its Hard To Get A Ton Of Power Out Of Any B16 Variant As It Is. Just To Small Of An Engine.

Please stop yelling.

Also, 200whp is not very hard to make in 2017 with the part selection we have now.

Why Would Anyone Recommend Internal Engine Work For "A Little Bit More Power"... You Would Have To Do More Than A Little Of Internal Work To Hit 200Whp On A B16. This Isnt Slapping On Some Ebay Turbo Kit To Hit 200Whp.

Yes, on a B16. This isn't 2002, people are making 280whp on 2 liters, you think 200whp is going to be a challenge on a 1.6 liter?

Bolt-ons are not going to make much power either, especially without a tune.

Not much more power from just pistons, even with cams too. It will cost quite a bit to do all of this and it will need a tune as well.

Exactly... Thanks For Clarifying What I Said. He Said A Little Bit More Power. Not Full Build. Bolt Ons Are Just Fine For What Im Assuming He Wants Power Wise.

Op... You Need To Explain What Your Goals Are With This Setup. You Have Left This Discussion With No Complete Information Besides Changing Pistons. You Say You Want Little Bit Of Power But No Specific Number. The Lack Of Information Has Left Those Trying To Help "Fighting" Amongst Each Other Because We Cant Decode What It Is You Actually Want!

My car make 126kw stock standard. I just want to make at least 145+kw. By keeping it N/A and i dont want to go extreme. Thats why i want to start with pistons and work my way up...and by finding out if ITR or CTR pistons would be better way to go or what is the best way...thanks

You missed all the fun... start with bolt ons then work your way up! Or tear apart the bottom end and put these pistons in and see where that goes for you. I don't recommend putting CTR pistons in anything but if you are going to do it go big I guess.

If you are commited to sticking with the b16 block, I would do bolt-ons and then change the final drive in the transmission to a 4.7 or 4.9 FD. Then, if you are still not happy with the way it feels, re-group and go from there.

A stock B16B with a good tune will make almost 180whp on just 1600cc. 190-200 is easily possible with a standard B16 with a little money and knowledge. I recently tuned a B16a2 EG that made 193whp on a Djet with PCTs, ITR head, Supertech springs/retainers, PLM Toda header, ported P73 intake, 68mm TB, Hondata gasket & coolant block, Thermal 3" turbo exhaust, SK2 P2's, ID750s and tuned on S300. It only made like 116 lb/ft though, but it made power clean to ~9k and could easily make the 200+ mark with some more compression, a better header and a fully ported head. I've also made 188whp with a personal B16a I had in a hatch a few years back which was an even simpler build; 100% stock P30 shortblock with over 110k miles, P72 head with 01 USDM ITR valvetrain, Skunk2 Tuner 2 cams, RMF header with 2.5 collector, 2.5" TruBendz B pipe to Vibrant muffler (no cat), Skunk2 Pro intake DIY port matched, Maxbore ITR TB, AEM V2 intake, RDX injectors. Tuned on Neptune and 93 pump. There's also countless more builds out there making power. They also make excellent road course engines because the square design makes them pretty reliable at higher revs for extended periods. B16s have their place, as long as you don't need low end torque haha. I'm more of a B18C guy myself, but I never understood why people would say B16s are trash because they have no displAcment, but a B18 with a mere 200cc more size is considered perfectly fine. HP wise the B16 and B18 are never THAT far apart when it comes to peak numbers for similar setups, the difference is all in the torque curve.

How much "MONEY" do you think it would take to get a b16a2 to 200 "WHP" because we have different meanings of easy and what it would take to get to that goal. I base the difficulty scale on experience on the worker not what's easy for me. I.E. Easy-beginner Moderate-amateur Hard-expert. also 180 isn't 200... I don't know many tuners out there that would/could get a stock engine 5whp away from ORIGINAL bhp. Maybe a tuner could step in this conversation and give insight.

If i'm understanding this correctly, you have about 170bhp and you are looking for around 200bhp?

OP... have you looked at the all motor dyno sheet section? You should take a look in that section and see what others have done to reach for your goal.
