Default 94 civic fuel pump issue

I have read several posts from a long time ago but not seen my specific problem. 94 Civic standard trans. Stored for some time. No power to the pump with key on. replaced Main relay and car ran for a short time and died because of old gas (assumed). Drained and refilled tank. Now engine light stays on, no power to the pump with key on. Pump runs when jump from 1-7 and 5-7 on main relay connector. All fuses verified with meter. Removed and inspected ECU and no obvious issues. Pulled and cleaned thermostat ground. Replaced main relay again (just to be sure). Appreciate the help...

dirty/bad ignition switch?

if it looks nasty black best to just replace, cleaning will buy you some time but not much imho.

I had not read that ignition switch would only affect fuel pump. Car engine and other services seem to work fine with key in start and run position.
