I think your stock radio is to big to fit down there.
if its a aftermarket CD player, you shouldnt need anything else but what came with the cd player. all mounting is with it

yah i saw your post on The Hybrid Forum, i have a 96 Cx, im not sure if that makes a difference. what parts come with the kit? i have a aftermarket radio. is that relocation kit available from Honda? i see your giving the 96-88 cupholders with it, so i'm assuming the kit you have is for a 99-00. let me know about the kit. thanks

Anthony

I have a 98 and I relocated my stereo to the bottom. I got it installed and all they charged me extra was for making the wiring longer. so you don;t need anythign that didn;t come with it to begin with

if you put your radio in the bottom, theives will think you dont have a radio, especially if you flip up your cup holder.

I would like to do it for security reasons. If tha motha Fu*#! can see it, he woun't steal it! Hopefully, plus the glare you get from having it the factory spot is a pain during the daytime.

WHO HAS DONE IT ON A 99-00'
If anyone can give or show us a walkthrough and part list that would be great.
Just as far as mounting it, the wireing is the easy part.

FYI Wireing - just run wires form the wireing harness and run them to your deck.

i have that done to my 99cx. all you have to do is get some 96-98 cupholders and take out the pocket it has and slip the radio in the spot of it. remove the 99-00 cupholders then replace it with the 96-98 one. then jus run the wires down the cupholder location. you shouldn't have to make them longer at all, they should be long enough. sorry i do'nt have a pic of mine since i have no digi cam. but if you need any more help pm me and i'll let you kno what ever you need to kno.

for the 96-98 you just screw that part and the little item holder has 4 screws 2 on each side, you take them out and the radio will plug into the place...no need for parts or anything...as for wiring needed to be extended nope...I just bought a wiriting kit, and didnt even remove my old am/fm thingy...still in there, I just reached my hand from behind and unpluged it nad used the harness

gotta keep the stock one..so people think that's what you listen to

The wires will reach? Thats cool, I figured that the cup holders would fit in form a 98. Well tight, that makes things easier. So I would want to put a piece of ABS Plastic to cover up that hole where the factory deck goes. Where and or how would I secure that on? With out using a glue gun, I live in Texas and that **** would melt come summer time.

Thanks guys

i put it in a 96 ek, i left the stock radio as a "diversion" and put a new jvc in the bottom and covered it up wit my cupholder lid, i didn't need anything, there are holes you can use in the whole brace down there, but when the thieves did get in the car, they stole my hole bottom console with my cupholders!!!!! bastards...anyways, its possible, but you can't put drinks in there and use the headunit at the same time, thats the only shitty part
